چکیده

We are reporting on a new signal processing technique for the detection of fast accelerating targets that spread over multiple range bins and Doppler filters in the radar receiver. By compensating for these undesirable effects, improvements in coherent gain of more than 2 dB can be achieved, thus optimizing detection performance. The technique is demonstrated with simulated data, and implementation can be expected to be readily feasible with many existing radar systems. APPROVED FOR PUBLIC RELEASE

Experiments on Through-the-Wall Motion Detection and Ranging

In this paper, we consider moving target detection and ranging for indoor sensing applications in urban environments. A simple method is used to determine the unambiguous range of an indoor moving target using dual frequency continuous wave (CW) radars. The dual-frequency radar employs two different carrier frequencies and simultaneously measures the phase change with respect to time, for each ...

3-D Time/Frequency-Range-Doppler

In this paper, we introduce the concept of 3-D radar signatures in a slow time-range-Doppler, fast timerange-Doppler and frequency-range-Doppler. Then, we describe how to utilize 3-D time or frequency-rangeDoppler signatures to extract information for detecting, relocating and re-focusing moving targets. Finally, we use AN/APY-6 X-band radar data for the demonstration of ground moving target de...

Dual Frequency Doppler Radars for Indoor Range Estimation: Cramr-Rao Bound Analysis

Single frequency Doppler radars are effective in distinguishing moving targets from stationary targets, but suffer from inherent range ambiguity. With a dual-frequency operation, a second carrier frequency is utilized to overcome the range ambiguity problem. In urban sensing applications, the dual-frequency approach offers the benefit of reduced complexity, fast computation time, and real time ...

A Pedestrian Detection Scheme Using a Coherent Phase Difference Method Based on 2D Range-Doppler FMCW Radar

For an automotive pedestrian detection radar system, fast-ramp based 2D range-Doppler Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar is effective for distinguishing between moving targets and unwanted clutter. However, when a weak moving target such as a pedestrian exists together with strong clutter, the pedestrian may be masked by the side-lobe of the clutter even though they are notably se...

Effect of Curved Path Monopulse Radar Platform’s Grazing Angle on Height of Floated Targets Detection

Monopulse radarsare one of the most accurate tracking radars used to guide various platforms. Detection and tracking of surface targets with these radars are performed in order to point strike targets. Sea clutter presents challenges for detecting floated targets and in addition to affecting detection height, it can cause errors in monopulse angle finding. In this paper, the airborne monopulse ...
